# How do I create a page?

@vince Use the search box to search for the page with the name you're planning to use. Since a page with that name shouldn't exist (by the definition of a "new" page), you'll see something like this:
`You can find the results of your search below. If you didn't find what you were looking for, you can create or edit the page :<your new page name>, named after your query.`

Click the link :<your new page name> to go to the edit page for your new page.


Might be worth considering the namespaces (or page prefixes or whatever DokuWiki calls them) to make sure things remain somewhat organized.

  * Edit the page you wish to get rid of... delete everything... save page...
